Sunday night we had the power go out during a thunderstorm, and it was out for about 2 hours. So as it is storming out Brian is cooking burgers on the grill for Connor, Luke and their 2 friends, Jack and Jackson. They thought it was cool to eat by candlelight. Monday night we decided to go for a ride down to Ellis to see the flooding because we knew they would be closing this off. I am sure the water is at the top of this pavilion by now. This flood is expected to top that of 1993.
Tuesday night Connor's baseball game was canceled due to the fact that his field is 2ft under water. The Coach decided to cancel practice, and have the boys go and help sandbag out in Palo, which was a great experience for Connor and Luke. Connor has alot of friends out there, he said it felt good to help them out.
Today, after my Doctor's apt. I decided to drive through downtown, which was a big mistake. It is a mess with everyone trying to get ready for the river crest and there are intersections full of water. I had to stop and get a picture though.

I have been keeping a close eye on the news these days. It seems weird to open up the paper here and see articles about Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, and Parkersburg. Mom and Dad have water in their basement - as do a lot of people there - and there is more rain coming the way it sounds. I will be anxious to see some more pics.
How are you feeling?
I am so worried about you guys. I hope it doesn't reach you. Please stay safe.
